Leichhardt Deepens Commitment to Youth, Education and Opportunity

At Leichhardt, we recognise the importance of supporting regional communities and helping young people build strong, confident futures. Through our new three‑year partnership with Polly Farmer Foundation in support of the Follow the Dream program in Carnarvon, we are working alongside local schools to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with culturally responsive academic support and meaningful pathways beyond their schooling years.

Follow The Dream delivers after‑school tutoring, mentoring and enrichment opportunities that help students stay engaged in education, strengthen their sense of belonging, and develop the skills they need to pursue further study, training or employment. Operating in Carnarvon since 2005, the program plays a vital role in supporting students from Years 6 to 12 as they work towards their goals.

This partnership reflects Leichhardt’s commitment to community development and education in the areas we operate. We are proud to support programs that empower young people, build confidence and resilience, and create opportunities for long‑term success.

Leichhardt Chief Executive Officer, Scott Nicholas, said the partnership is a perfect fit for Leichhardt:

“Leichhardt is proud to partner with Polly Farmer Foundation and support the important role the Follow the Dream program in Carnarvon plays in helping young people build confidence, resilience, and opportunities for the future. This partnership strongly aligns with our values and our commitment to investing in the community.”

Mark Wirtz, CEO, Polly Farmer Foundation, said partnerships like this are vital to the success of the Follow The Dream program:

“We’re incredibly grateful for Leichhardt’s ongoing support. Their commitment strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful academic support and enriching opportunities for students in Carnarvon. Together, we’re creating pathways that help young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people realise their potential and pursue their goals with confidence.”

Izobel Ferdinandus, Carnarvon Follow the Dream alumni, said Follow the Dream has helped her build her confidence and learning.

“It’s a safe place where I feel supported, motivated, and encouraged to keep working toward my goals. The tutors, the opportunities, and the sense of belonging all remind me that I’m capable of achieving my dreams and creating a strong future for myself and my community.”
