Leichhardt has announced a new three-year partnership with Shooting Stars, an organisation dedicated to supporting Aboriginal girls and young women to thrive, stay engaged in school and transition successfully into employment or further education.

The partnership reflects Leichhardt’s ongoing commitment to community development and education in regional communities. Shooting Stars delivers programs that build confidence, resilience and life skills, ensuring young women have the tools they need to achieve their goals.

Scott Nicholas, Chief Executive Officer at Leichhardt, said the new partnership aligns with Leichhardt’s commitment to investing in the local communities in which they operate.

“We are thrilled to partner with Shooting Stars to support the incredible work they do in empowering Aboriginal girls. Education is the foundation for opportunity, and this partnership fits perfectly with our values and our vision for stronger communities,” he said.

“At Leichhardt, we’re immensely proud of our work creating meaningful partnerships with the Baiyungu people at Lake MacLeod and the Mardudunera people at Eramurra, and this partnership builds on that legacy of strong community and Indigenous engagement.”

Shooting Stars Executive Officer, Helen Ockerby said partnerships like this are vital to sustaining the program and expanding its positive impact across communities.

“This partnership will help us grow our reach across regional WA and beyond. It will create even more opportunities for our girls and women, building on their strengths, leadership and potential.

Together with Leichhardt, we can create pathways that support the aspirations of Shooting Stars participants and lead to brighter futures.”

The announcement coincided with Shooting Stars’ 10-year Gala celebration at the Ritz Carlton Perth on Friday 12 December, where leaders from both organisations came together to mark the milestone.
